About The Woolly Dog Kennel
We are currently located in a home built by Ginny’s grandfather in 1948 in Clermont, Florida. We’re shopping for a larger property with more room for the dogs to run, swim, and play. But wherever we live, we're a family that enjoys being together and going places together. We love the outdoors, and we bring the dogs with us most places that we go. They enjoy camping, hiking, boating, and fishing as much as we do! We treat our dogs with love and affection, but they give it back in abundance. These dogs have brought loads of laughter into our life every single day! We're confident that they'll make you laugh out loud when you meet them.
Regarding health, we believe that preventing problems is easier and more effective than treating them. We'll use high tech medical care if we have to, but we work hard on our health so that we don't have to. It's the same with our own health as it is with our dogs. Our focus is on nutrition and natural health practices that protect the strength, agility, and temperament of our dogs. We feed them a high quality grain-free dry food that includes probiotics for better digestion, antioxidants for healthy immune function, and omega 6 & 3 fatty acids that help with their skin and coat and so many other things. The dry food is a base that we combine with raw vegetables and meat. We give them additional supplements to support their immune system in order to prevent the need for medication and invasive treatments. All this is under the watchful eye of our family vet.
We strongly believe in puppy training. Spanish Water Dogs are delightfully intelligent. However, you will only enjoy your dog if they listen to what you tell them to do. When you come to pick up your wiggly new friend, we will have already begun her crate training, house training, and socialization. As soon as your application is approved and we have your deposit, we will send you a series of helpful articles so that you can immediately begin planning your own reward-based exercises that will be as fun for your puppy as they will be for you. That's how much we believe that training will make a difference in your dog's future happiness--and yours, too. Every minute that you put into training your dog will multiply in so many benefits. Your relationship will be solidified and nurtured. You'll both get more exercise, and your pup will develop the good manners that will make you proud. Disciplinary problems and bad habits, just like health problems, are so much easier to prevent than to correct. Make fun training exercises a part of your daily routine.
